Love Is Dead is a casual puzzle game with a cute story and narrative to it. The high-level story is that you, your lover, and two pets end up dead and turn into zombies. Your first task is to set out and find your pets. Each puzzle level has a part of the story narrative told by what could be interpreted as a cowgirl out west around a campfire.
The puzzles get increasingly challenging as you progress, but there is nothing outrageously unique about the puzzles. If you have gamed long enough, you have seen that puzzle style, trick, or whatever you want to call it in the past. Graphics are cute, the controls are simple, and the soundtrack is a nice background. You can play this both solo or two-player co-op.
Now, I read other reviews particularly on Steam before I buy games. This came in a Humble Bundle so I just got the game. Still, I read the reviews after the fact. I am pretty disappointed with those that complain about the fact we have seen all of these puzzle tactics before, its cheesy graphics, it is for a toddler. Well you know, maybe it is! So what? Doesn't make it a bad game.
It is nice to see a simple game with a cute story still being made still and great for a target of younger gamers. I would consider this family-friendly. Even though they are 'zombies' they are stick-shaped with blob heads with no blood or gore. It took me back to when I was doing casual puzzle games in my youth.
So yeah, if you are a seasoned professional gamer, you may not enjoy this, but if you are someone that wants a casual puzzle game or something you can show your kids, niece, or nephew, this is a good game to do that.
