Car mechanic simulator 2015 is pretty much what you would expect from the title. You simulate fixing cars as a car mechanic. There is a lot that goes into this simulator. You start as a small shop taking on small repair jobs. As you make money, you invest in your business.
Now I am not a mechanic, but my dad did make me learn how to change my own oil and swap out a flat tire as a kid. Something every person should know how to do. However, now as an adult, I am that person who just makes the appointment at the dealership for my car. But that little bit of teaching my dad did try with me held value as the game is relatively accurate in the vehicle's parts. Even down to different engine types and other aspects, you may even learn a thing or two.
The game provides some tips on what looks good or bad based on the physical appearance of things like the amount of corrosion, and some work orders are pretty straight forward. Others are less so, just, "it's making noise." This requires more investigation into how things. Also, examine mode will help highlight problem areas. One thing I learned, sometimes things are wrong that the car is NOT in for. So you don't need to fix it.
For being an older game, the graphics are well done, and a really nice soundtrack to let you just get into the repairs. The controls are simple enough but could be seen as repetitive. Well, what do you expect? You do two dozen break jobs since they are fast and easy money, it is going to feel repetitive. This is not a bad thing, as it is accurate to the simulation.
Now this game is not one I would have ever consider buying for myself, pretty sure I got it in a HumbleBundle years ago. That said, I really enjoyed playing this game and even found it an excellent game to sit with my kid. The controls are straightforward with clicking some numbers or letters well laid out in the menu or using your right and left mouse buttons. There are many DLCs you can buy for this game that goes on really nice sales through Steam. They do add a lot of depth and extra to the game, that I think they were well worth it if you like these kinds of games.
I would recommend this game if you like simulations, like vehicles, or even just want something low pace that is family-friendly. I enjoyed it so much, I am looking at the newer 2018 installment.
